The Moyer District Library project began as a plan to renovate and build an addition to their existing mid-century, exposed-timber structure. As preliminary designs progressed it became apparent that renovating their current facility was going to be a very costly endeavor which would still not meet all of their requirements. EA Architecture and Design, Inc. was asked to assist the library board with some "outside the box" thinking that would result in the best possible outcome. The scenario that was decided upon involved buying a vacant building, which was formerly a grocery store. The finalized plan came about after EA Architecture & Design, Inc. performed a preliminary inspection of the building, provided an existing building assessment report, and developed a preliminary plan of the potential library.
